A Little Reminder to My Real Self
You need to hear the truth about yourself as often as possible. And definitely not what the television commercials tell you. Left to the media we need a myriad of products from granite kitchen countertops to famous designer dog shampoo, and everything in between to look good, smell good and be better than the next guy. Better than who? Who is this next guy anyway? Corporate America makes big bank on this set-up and would have us perpetually keeping up with the Jones’. But we’re smarter than that, right? Right! Good answer!
What I mean is the true truth. The truth that you deserve your best dreams and the truth that you are fully capable of making them come true. The truth that you are inherently good. The truth that you are still as your Higher Power created you. Whatever mistakes you made, the truth about you is unchanged. You are and will forever be exactly as you were created. I am not referring to religion here, the truth of your being is not an exclusive commodity owned by the world’s religions, nor is your Creator. Light and joy and peace abide in you because your Higher Power put them there. So put away your foolish self-images that you somehow don’t quite measure up. Do you really need the latest, coolest, brand newest shiny thing to be important, happy, fulfilled or loved? Do not seek where it is not, side with the truth in you and let the false fall away. Learn to lay all your fear aside and recognize yourself complete being created by your Higher Power who knows nothing else. It is truly arrogant to think yourself less than what your Creator made. Forgive all thoughts which would oppose the truth of your completion, unity and peace. The truth about you is that you were created perfect, you just forgot for a little while. The world needs you.

Hi Lisa, excellent post. After reading it I realized, we are all worth more than any money you can think ever think of. With all the problems people have one should stop and realize their REAL SELF. T.
Terry,
Thank you, I totally agree. When you truly know your own worth and that we are far more than any amount, I believe it is then that you can really enjoy money. It’s a tool to be used, a temporary pleasure, not a replacement for peace, inner well-being, happiness, or close relationships. It’s so easy to get caught up in the chase for stuff, and believe me, I’m just like the next guy, I love cool, new stuff! But I’ll have to say I’ve gotten better at being grateful for what I have and what’s really important, thanks in no small part to my well-grounded boyfriend and just getting older.
Thanks for your comment and I wish you the best!

Hey Lisa,
I am intrigued with the level of openness and honesty you portray in your blog. It is refreshing and odd these days when so many people don’t know who they are or what they want.
The world cries out for more folks who will question reality and then begin exploring, as you have.
I am on my own excursion and not really certain where I’m headed. But wherever it is, I’m glad to see that you have joined this wagon train.
Thanks for your efforts on this blog. Your readers appreciate it.
Have a grand day, missus.
Barry
